The competitive gymnastics team at Twist ’N Flip Glenmont currently participates in the USA Gymnastics (USAG) XCEL program and is a gym member of United States Gymnastics Association.

The XCEL program runs parallel to the JO (Junior Olympic) Program. This program allows Twist'N Flip gymnasts to compete a broader set of skills compared to the USAG JO program, where each gymnast needs a specific skill set to compete. This allows us to have more gymnasts competing, and for our gymnasts to pick and choose the skills they are more comfortable doing within the allowed skill set by their level.

We currently have a Pre-Team which is a program designed to prepare the gymnasts for the USAG XCEL levels by learning the fundamentals and basic skill sets for competition. This group competes in two in-house meets with our other locations. We also have a Jr. Team that is not part of the USAG competition program but follows the same structure as the Pre-Team. They also compete in two-house meets with our other locations. Both the Pre-Team and the Jr. Team practice one day a week for 90 minutes.

The competitive gymnastics teams typically travel between 8-10 meets from November through May in addition to NYS State/Regional Championships.
